Then, in 2010, Hugo's was titled Best Restaurant in Australia. There biggest pride is winning 'Best Pizza in the World' at the New York Pizza Challenge. So, it is without a doubt, that Hugos Manly is an absolute go-to for your next group booking.
Whether your coming from Sydney's CBD or are staying in, or close to, Manly, Hugos is easily accessible with ferry and bus routes at its doorstep... so there really are zero excuses for not checking out this wonderful place!
Hugos accommodates for work functions, having two special corporate set menus. Menu 1 is a two course set menu with tasting plates, main courses and sides, with the option to add desserts. Menu 2 is a three course set menu featuring tasting plates, sides and a selection of pizzas for the main course, followed by a range of desserts. Menu 1 and Menu 2 are priced at $90 and $70 per person, respectively (as of September, 2024).
Another option for larger functions is to reserve the cocktail lounge area and let Hugos host a cocktail style function for you and your work colleagues. This space in the restaurant can accommodate 20-80 guests with a stately combination of plush lounges, ottomans and plenty of standing room to make for an inviting and comfortable atmosphere, much like the feel of Manly itself. This package offers a pizza sharing menu or a choice of 4 canapes with a variety of pizzas and a large tiramisu cake that the chef pre prepares for everyone to share. On top of this is either a standard drinks package or premium drinks package.
Highlights of their food menus include oysters served natural with sherry vinegar & shallot vinaigrette, or fried calamari with rocket, chilli sea salt and lemon aioli for tasting plates.
For main courses, stand-outs include wagyu sirloin with sauteed mushrooms, caramelised onions and jus, or the pan-fried ocean trout with a baby-beet, witlof, pine nut, horseradish cream and orange dressing salad. Their wood-fired, thin-crust pizzas showcase some of your favourites, plus some specialty options that must be tried and tested!
