Henry G's Wine Parlour honours Henry Gilbert Smith, also known as 'The Father of Manly'. After landing in Sydney in 1827, Henry G set his sights on gaining Manly as a tourist destination that sparked his endeavour to build Manly Wharf and purchase Manly's first ferry, The Phantom, to share the beautiful area with others. Once a moth, Henry G's Wine Parlour hosts a 'Pages & Pinot' local book club, for participants to read through the old-time literature over a glass of wine or two. For a taste of Manly's history, The Hold in Manly Corso, is a dimly lit bar with warm flickering candles, glowing lanterns with nautical decorations and framed pictures and sketches of Manly back in time. There are weekly deals like Tequila Tuesdays and live music until late on Tuesdays, Fridays and weekends from 8pm until late. Being a smaller space, larger tables can cater 15-20 pax and more standing upon enquiry. Enjoy live music weekly or comedy nights, music tributes nights or special events monthly.
A contemporary Japanese Izakaya Bar nestled under 4 Pines BrewPub, was curated by executive Japanese chef, Joji Shikama, whose experience and personal culture shaped the function menu to pair perfectly with a yuzu cocktail, Japanese Whiskey or fresh beer poured from the upstairs brewery. Full venue hire can fit 60-135 pax with booth seating, a cosy beer garden and extended drinks offered. A projector, TV and music output are all available for this space.
Alternatively, just the outside area can be booked for 20-40 pax with bench style seating and relaxed outdoor seating with artificial grass, and a TV output available for presenting. A weatherproof and retractable roof is also available to ensure bad weather doesn't spoil an event. Another option is to book the inside bar section with a flexible function space that can be re-arranged to create the ultimate set up. Inside, are wooden booths to sit and enjoy food or have a good view to watch the projector and additionally, a TV and music output with the option to change the lighting colour for a perfect theme is available.
The event space capacity at 55 North, as part of Manly Pacific, reaches 140 people seated or 230 people standing, making it the perfect venue for a larger event. Here, guests enjoy a front-row seat to views of the beachfront and find comfort in light-filled and bright interiors to enjoy a casual drink or dine-in, if not a function or event.
